Wedding Season!!

Wedding season is upon us!!
Everyone dreams of going to their ex-husbands wedding.
Kidding.
BUT- Christy and I sure got to go to my ex's wedding ;)
Kennedy's dad was getting married on Sunday and she of course wanted me to go.
He and I get along great- and I actually probably talk to him more than my hubs now.
Kidding again.
Anyway, Once I knew I was going I made Christy come with me. I get along with his family
really well but I thought it might kind of get awkward.
I have the best best friend in the whole world.
I couldn't have gotten anyone else to come with me and she offered!
We got fancy and drove there only getting lost twice.
Once we were there we said hi to everyone and of course Kennedy looked
so.dang.cute.

Thank you to Hailey for being our photographer :)

The little best friends.
And Jagger :)

And like anyone I got a plate to go!
Classy like that.

Close to My Heart Giveaway

We are so excited to announce our first giveaway!! It's so easy and look how CUTE her stuff is :) Elizabeth has been so good to us! You've got a week to enter and your odds are pretty good ;) GOOD LUCK!!

Hi girlfriends :)  My name is Elizabeth and I blog over at Broken Treasures.  I am super excited to be guest posting here on My Best Friends Blog and offering you all a great giveaway.   Chelsie & Christy  left a sweet comment on one of my scrapbook pages a few weeks back and when I went to check out this here blog I immediately fell in love!  I love the idea of a girls night out, crafting with friends and sharing stories through a blog together.

I have always been an avid scrapbooker and discovered Close To My Heart about two years ago.  Since then I have really gotten into card making and other paper crafts and I'm having so much fun!

Here are a few samples a recent scrapbook pages I've done

I've also discovered digital with Studio J and absolutely love it! (especially the part where I don't have to pay a thing to play around with it and there is absolutely NO downloading onto my computer)
Here are a few samples of some digital layouts

However, the thing I love the most about Close To My Heart is their acrylic stamps.  I was never much of a stamper until I saw these completely clear stamps that you put onto clear blocks!  Truly amazing and so easy to use.

Today I'm giving away a double stamp set (valued at $35.90) that is perfect for making cards.
***this set is no longer available for purchase***

Here are a few cards I made with this stamp set over the weekend using the Dotty For You paper pack (available for only $5 this month with a $35 purchase).

I used a photo album on the Close To My Heart Facebook page as inspiration.  Here are some of their sample cards made with this stamp set.

Would you like this stamp set to make your own cards?

Enter to win:
So are you a stamper?  Do you like to scrapbook?  Do you make cards?  I'd love to know a little more about you.  Leave a comment telling us what craft you enjoy.  **you must be a follower of My Best Friend Blog and leave a comment saying you are to be entered to win** Winner will be chosen randomly chosen one week from today (May 3rd).  Please be sure to leave a way that you can be contacted (e-mail works great) if you win.

Visit my facebook page and tell me a little about you - do you like to scrapbook or make cards?  Are you a traditional scrapbooker or is digital the way to go for you?

Liebster Blog Award

We were so excited to find out we were tagged for the Liebster Blog Award. Thank you Lindsay from three peas in my little pod! Go check out her blog to find lots of great recipes.

"The origins of the Liebster Blog award are somewhat unclear but the general consensus is that it originated in Germany, Liebster meaning favorite or dearest, to showcase bloggers with fewer than 200 followers. Upon accepting the award the recipient must then pass it on to five more blogs of note."

The rules are simple:

1. Present the Liebster Blog Award to 5 blogs of 200 followers or less who you feel deserve to be noticed.
2. Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.
3. Post the award on your blog.
4. List the bloggers you gave the award to with links to their sites. Leave a comment on their blogs to let them know they've recevied the award.
5. Share five random facts about yourself

Mother Daughter Date

When Chelsie and I got pregnant our moms met and were able to talk to each other about their little girls having babies. I think it helped them have somebody else in a similar situation. Ever since then we have all been friends.  We really have a special friendship.  Not only are we best friends, our daughters are best friends, and our mothers are friends. It's pretty awesome!
As you know Melting Pot is our favorite.  A few months ago we found out that neither of our moms had ate there before.  So last weekend we surprised them and took them out on a mother daughter date. We didn't tell them what we were doing, just to get ready for a fun night.  Before the night even started our moms had so many ideas of what we were doing.  Chelsie's mom thought we were going to a psychic, my mom thought we were gonna ride in a limo.  We had to tell them to lower their expectations or they were both going to be disappointed!

Chelsie really wanted to blind fold them, but our moms weren't excited about that idea. We wanted to give them the full experience, which means taking public transportation! We pulled into the trax station and I don't think I have ever seen my mom so excited!  She said she had only taken trax once before and she really wanted to go on it again. Ha Ha who gets that excited over trax? After a very interesting ride with lots of people watching, we arrived downtown.  Then we tried to convince them we were going to have a wild night at Keys on Main.

When they realized we were going to Melting Pot they were both so excited!

We got our favorite, Fiesta Cheese, Chelsie and her mom had Filet Mignon, and we all ate the delicious Flaming Turtle chocolate fondue. It was all wonderful!
By the end of the night we were stuffed. It was so fun to be able to take our moms out and spoil them. They do so much for us, we don't know what we would do with out them!

Cards Made With Love

Christy and I both had Tuesday off this week so we got together to craft :)
We've been talking with Elizabeth and she has given us such cute ideas to make cards out of!
We both needed to have some spare cards- so we looked through the idea book she sent us and
found some really cute ideas!!

Then we ended our card making day by going to Cafe Rio of course.
Then a quick trip to Nordstrom for new toms ;)
It was such a fun day and we both went home with our stomachs
sore from laughing so hard with each other.

Enjoy..

Leave it to me-
My cute friends baby is turning one soon so I decided to make her a birthday card!
I was so proud of it- I picked it up and of course had done the whole thing upside down.
She'll be getting a flat double-sided birthday card.
Whoopsies!!

We love how they turned out!!
Go stop by her blog and tell her hi if you love them too! :)
Love- Chels

DIY Chevron Pillow Slip Cover

I love anything with a chevron pattern!  I have been looking at different local fabric stores for a nice chevron pattern, and I finally found one at Material Girls.  Before you read on just know that I can't sew!  This project is so easy that even I was able to do it.  Although I did make it an inch smaller on accident so I had to squeeze my pillow in!  Good thing I am not a perfectionist!  I found the tutorial on this blog.  At the bottom of her tutorial she tells you how to cut the fabric for any size pillow (check your measurements or your pillow may end up like mine).

My bed was looking a little dull and very outdated.  I think these pillows added the perfect touch.

The amazing ruffle pillow is from Pier 1 you can get it here, and it's on sale now for $23!

The best part about this project is the fact that its a slip cover.  Whenever I get sick of the trendy chevron pattern I can easily take it off.

The Melting Pot

Christy and I have our favorites. Our favorite movies, favorite DIY projects, and our favorite places to eat. Our absolutely most favorite place to eat is The Melting Pot. It just a short ride downtown and has the most amazing fondue. We get the same thing every time. The cheese and then dessert. So delicious. The last time we went, we decided to take the always lovely public transportation- trax. It's always quite the experience. We also exchanged gifts for each others birthdays- we always love an excuse to go shopping and buy stuff ;)  We really just are little kids being grown ups when we get together.
You know you go to a certain restaurant too much when you have a
favorite waiter who knows you too.
And who gives you a great deal
It's always good to have a connection right? ;)

Hopefully our moms don't read this- we're going to surprise them soon and take them with us.
Neither of them have ever been there so we can't wait!
